Thanksgiving is ONE WEEK AWAY! This is one of our favorite holidays! It’s an opportunity to hit the pause button on our busy lives to catch up with friends and family. It also serves as a great reminder, like many holidays, to give thanks – all the time, not just on one day!
One of the things we’re incredibly thankful for is FOOD. Yep, don’t let the constant workouts fool you…we’re always eating! One way or another, each of us have learned that one of the most important things in leading a healthy life is balance, particularly when it comes to food.
According to research from the Calorie Control Council, the average American may consume more than 4,500 calories and a whopping 229 grams of fat from snacking and eating a traditional holiday dinner with turkey and all the trimmings…
That’s a lot to be intimidated by. One might already start stressing out. We encourage you to try to resist the urge! We try to stay healthy and make smart choices, but don’t punish ourselves if we eat a piece of pie (seriously Kate really loves pie…). The key is balance. You can safely splurge and not be mad at yourself or feel sick the next day!
Traditional Thanksgiving meals tend to stuff you (pun intended!), so we’ve compiled a few healthier links and recipes below to help you keep some balance on your Turkey Day table!
