We were thrilled to welcome CorePower Yoga into town late last year. After opening their first location in Federal Hill, they quickly started planning to open a few other locations in the Baltimore area (including the new Harbor Point opening on 12/3)!
The latest we got to try is the new spot in Brewer’s Hill. The studio is blocks from Canton Crossing (Target, etc.) and just opened this fall. Annie and I had the chance to take a class there and the studio was great – clean, bright and open!
We had the opportunity to catch up with Dani Anderson, the CPY Area Leader of Baltimore, to ask her a few questions about the new spots! Read below for our Q&A with Dani:
What can yogis expect when they visit the new location(s) around town?
The Baltimore studio management team consists of really fun, passionate, go-getters! They thrive on building a strong community of yogis who empower one another and they love sharing their enthusiasm for yoga with all! CorePower delivers a workout that is physical and mindful – all in one efficient hour. Class attendees will have access to spa-like amenities including spacious changing rooms with showers and private lockers, and a full retail boutique showcasing a stylish selection of men’s and women’s activewear and accessories.
It can be intimidating to enter a private studio for the first time, what advice do you have for a first timer?
Beginners should be looking for something similar to a CorePower Yoga C1, where you have the opportunity to explore the postures and fundamental principles of vinyasa flow. These classes are unheated and have no added humidity. If you are already accustomed to heated classes, Hot Power Fusion is also a great one for beginners. While each student takes a personal experience from their yoga practice; many find a sense of community within CorePower – the sense of belonging to something larger than themselves.
What’s your favorite class? Why?
While I enjoy all of our classes, C2 is absolutely my favorite. C2 combines all of my favorite elements of a yoga class- intensity for my mind & body, heat, flow, breath, music and the opportunity to be playful with arm balances! I love that each C2 class is unique and instructor inspired- no two classes are alike!
CPY has been opening a lot of locations in Baltimore this year (which we love) – why has the company suddenly taken an interest in Charm City?
The Baltimore metro area has really embraced our unique offering – a workout with both intensity and intention – and we’re excited to share it with more people in the community as expand with several new studios. Baltimore area studios include Federal Hill and Brewers Hill. Two new studios will hit Baltimore this winter at Harbor Point and Rotunda Towson.
Are there any deals or introductory rates newbies can enjoy during your first few months?
All new students receive a free week of unlimited classes! For all new studios coming to the area, community members are encouraged to take advantage of the studio’s limited-time founding rate on Black Tag Memberships. People who sign up prior to the studio opening receive 25% off unlimited yoga, so make sure you get yours before the two new Baltimore studios open!
