I’m so excited to kick off the fall Tone It Up Charity Challenge! I typically love the TIU challenges, but they’ve upped the ante this year through partnering with Charity Miles! Not only will this season’s fitness challenge inspire women everywhere to lead healthy lives, but it will also help donate much needed funds to charities around the world!
Charity Miles is an awesome, free app that turns your walk, run or bike ride into a donation for a charity. Bikers earn up to 10¢ per mile; walkers and runners earn up to 25¢ per mile, all courtesy of corporate sponsors! Some of the charities include Feeding America, Wounded Warrior, Autism Speaks, Habitat for Humanity, Stand Up to Cancer, Girl UP and many more. Like I said, it’s free and easy – we highly encourage you to download it and try it out!
It was hard for me to pick just one charity…so I picked three! During the challenge, I’ll be donating my miles to Girl Up, National Park Service & ASPCA! I’m so excited to be doing a small part to give back to these organizations that give so much.
It makes me think of this quote from Arianna Huffington’s book, Thrive (which you should totally pick up!)… “Imagine how our culture, how our lives, will change when we begin valuing go-givers as much as we value go-getters” 🙂
I wasn’t feeling amazing this morning, but I still got up and out the door for a quick run with my dog, Mahoney. Two miles down and a few cents donated to GirlUp!
I hope you’ll join me for this fall challenge to dedicate some of your hard work to those in need! Let us know in the comments to which organization you’ll be donating your miles!
