I recently had the opportunity to test out the new Google Pixel phone with Verizon and I had a blast! Let me start by saying I’ve been an Apple products user basically my entire life…My mom owns a graphic design company and when they started using Macs for their design capabilities, it wasn’t long until we had Macs at home. So, when I opened the new Pixel and saw the totally new Android-style interface, I wasn’t sure how I’d fair…
I loved it.
I’m not jumping to switch everything I have away from Apple, but the experience definitely opened my eyes to all the other amazing things out there!
The phone itself was great – a cool tool for any gal/guy on-the-go, between work and teaching fitness classes and popping around town! The size was comparable to the bigger iPhones, the body was light and easy to hold (I didn’t go running with it but I’m sure it would be good in any arm holder), the screen that bled off the side was awesome, the battery lasted longer than any phone I’ve ever had, and the ease to change apps was easy. BUT, the coolest thing by far was the camera. I’M OBSESSED WITH THE CAMERA (fan-girling too much?).
The 12.3 MP camera shoots extremely well in the light, dark, even twilight. The standard photos are HDR+ (aka they are crisp AF). Plus, it has built in options for blurred edges, fisheye and photosphere – making there a range of fun things you can create. Then, after you take the images, they’re loaded directly into your Google photos for storage – easy to access from anywhere! Want to get a bit more technical? I found this post that goes deep into what the camera is about and how it works!
Take a look at a good range of photos I took with the camera…not saying I’m a pro, but the Pixel definitely helped me produce some beautiful images!
I mean check out this picture of snow. Yes, snow. Boring maybe but…not. You can SEE THE SNOWFLAKE. WITH YOUR BARE EYE BALLS! AH! So cool, right?
THE SNOWFLAKES ARE RIGHT THERE – LOOK WITH YOUR EYES!
All in all, it was super fun to test out the phone. I’m excited to see what new iterations and developments they put out! If you want to find out more about the Google Pixel on Verizon just check out their site!
NOTE: This post was in partnership with Verizon but all opinions are my own. Thank you so much for supporting the brands that keep this blog going!
