September is here and we’re stoked for the cool weather. It’s not too hot and not freezing – the perfect time for outdoor runs and fun with friends. Speaking of runs – there is no shortage this month! Charm City Run and lots of our amazing, local nonprofits are hosting their races this month.
Did you know September is also National Yoga Month? There’s tons of awesome yoga events going on in the city this month!

September 1 – 21st: Charm City PT Barre Crawl Instagram Contest
Between September 1-21, Jason from Charm City PT is doing a Barre Crawl Instagram contest. Participants are challenged to attend as many barre classes at as many different studios/gyms as they can then tag photos on Instagram with the hashtag #BarreCrawlCharmCity. There will be daily prizes will be given away as well as a grand prize: Lululemon Mat, Charm City Pt shirt and a pair of Ahnu yoga sport shoes.
Saturday, September 5: Charles Street 12
Join us for the 3rd Annual Charles Street 12! The Chuck 12 begins at The Shops at Kenilworth and offers you the unique opportunity to run down one of Maryland’s most beautiful and scenic byways – Charles Street. Earn your race medal and then head to the post-race party at the Power Plant Live for fun and music.
Saturday, September 5: #SaturdaySweat for Girls on the Run
Join local trainer Heather Hatfield for a special fundraiser workout for Girls On the Run. It’s FREE- but donations to Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake are welcomed!
Saturday, September 5: Roadless Ride at MAC
Spin to your heart’s content with the MAC in Timonium. Choose your ride length, donate money for cancer research, and have a great workout! Then join for an after party at Hightopps Backstage Grille from 6-10 PM. Fun for the whole family, and a portion of all proceeds from the night are donated to The Roadless Ride fund! Email the MAC team to register!
Sunday, September 6: Giddy Up 5K
The Giddy Up 5K Run/Walk was started to celebrate the life of Catie Carnes, while at the same time raise money to support the needs of children diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes. This year, they are parntering with University of Maryland Children’s Hospital and University of Maryland Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology, to support their research efforts and care of children with diabetes.
Monday, September 7: Labor Day FloYo
Send out the summer on the water for Labor Day FloYo with two classes on Labor Day Monday: 9:30am at CapitalSUP with Marissa and 12pm in Baltimore with Margo!
Wednesday, September 9: Ravens 5K and Fun Run
Lace up your running shoes and help kickoff the 2015 Ravens Season! Celebrate the return of football at the Ravens 5K and Kids Fun Run on September 9th with alumni players, cheerleaders and mascots. Run or walk your way around Baltimore with other Ravens fans and cross the finish line on the field at M&T Bank Stadium! Proceeds from the races registration fees will be donated to the One Love Foundation and House of Ruth Maryland.
Friday, September 11: Riders’ Choice Happy Ride
Your Happy Ride, Your Way! This REV60 was designed specifically for the #REVFam, from the instructor to the post-sweat Gundalow cocktail. Join for a powerful REV60 ride co-taught by Maddison & Nick, followed by dinner & drinks in REV’s lobby courtesy of OrderUp & Gundalow Juice!
Saturday, September 12: Little Sisters of the Poor Nun Run
Join for the 2nd Annual 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run to benefit St. Martin’s Home and the Little Sisters of the Poor Baltimore. All participants will enjoy a pre-event warm up and music by DJ Ray Derr, post- race refreshments, Bobalouie the Clown and raffle drawings.
Saturday, September 12: Farm to Mat Yoga
Farm to Mat is back and we’re stoked! Join for power vinyasa yoga on the lawn at Farmstead Grill with live music by the Herd Brothers, followed by a delicious farm to table dinner served outside. Sweat, bliss out to great vinyasa vibrations and make new friends! Tickets are $25 and include yoga & dinner.

Now in its fourth year, the Iron Girl Columbia Half Marathon is an inspirational all women’s event that is about empowering women towards a healthy lifestyle.
Saturday, September 12: SUP-N-SIP Sweetwater Challenge
Join FloYo and Sweewater Brewing for a full afternoon on the water! SUP sports challenges, relay races, pre-Raven’s Pep Rally and paddle parade with live music! A portion of the proceeds will go to Blue Water Baltimore.
Sunday, September 13: Run to Remember 11K and 5K
Join us for an amazing race honoring the extraordinary heroism, commitment and sacrifice of the victims, survivors and rescuers of the events of 9/11. This race begins in front of the 9/11 Memorial of Maryland at the World Trade Center on Pratt Street and finishes in the scenic Federal Hill Park! The Baltimore City Police Foundation and the Baltimore City Fire Foundation are the beneficiaries of this event, assisting those families that have lost a loved one in the line of duty.
Tuesday, September 15: Baltimore Marathon Night at Camden Yards
Take a break from marathon training to enjoy a nice night with the Orioles! Special ticket prices set for the evening.
Friday, September 18: BMOREtoned vs November Project Ride
Come out & show your support for BMOREtoned for the friendly battle at REV! Our own Jami & Nick from November Project Baltimore are challenging our communities to represent in a battle of the sweatiest! Pull on your grassroots NP gear or favorite TIU apparel with pride, and get ready to throw it down for some friendly competition in the saddle, followed by a celebratory happy hour where everyone wins!
Friday/Saturday, September 18/19: Shauna Harrison Returns to BMORE!
We’re super pumped UA trainer & creator of the Sweat-a-Day challenge, Shauna Harrison is making her way to Baltimore, and will be offering (2) opportunities to sweat with her while she’s her! If you haven’t tried her signature Muscle & Flow yoga class yet, definitely check that out Friday, Sept 18 at 6:30PM at Charm City Yoga Fed Hill and/or HipHop Cycle at REV on Saturday, Sept 19 at 11AM.
Saturday, September 19: Building Your Home Practice with CCY
Starting and maintaining a home yoga practice of your own can be challenging. Charm City Yoga will help you to work through what truly stops you from practicing at home by taking time to establish a time of day, decide on a space, consider any supplies; exploring resources and gatheirng in community. This workshop is appropriate for vinyasa, hatha, or kundalini practitioners – beginners or advanced.

Saturday, September 19: Grit Up & Run Trail Challenge
The Outward Bound Trail Challenge is an approximate 3.1 mile course beginning and ending in the main loop and general spectator area/race village of Baltimore’s Leakin Park. This course is a dash through Leakin Park on dirt trails, up and down hills, across streams and through beautiful scenery. Natural challenges are found throughout the course providing a diverse and exciting race experience unlike any other in Baltimore.
Saturday, September 19: 13th Annual Diane Geppi-Aikens Memorial 5K Race and 1-Mile Fun Walk
This event benefits the Diane Geppi-Aikens Endowed Scholarship at Loyola University Maryland, honoring the legacy of former Loyola Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Diane Geppi-Aikens who passed away in 2003. Geppi-Aikens was Loyola’s head coach from 1989-2003 and had a tremendous impact on all of her players throughout her coaching career. Diane’s family and friends look forward to an outstanding event in honor of a courageous mother, coach and friend. This race begins and ends on Loyola’s Diane Geppi-Aikens Field with a run through the beautiful Guilford neighborhood.
Saturday, September 19: Swim Across America
Participate in the pool swim for all ages at Meadowbrook Pool or join for the open water swim at High Tide Farm for a beautiful 1, 3, or 5 mile swim in the Magothy River. A limited number of slots are available to do the 5 mile swim around Gibson Island. Swim for a great cause and sign up for this awesome event!

Sunday, September 20: Empowered By Gundalow
We’re thrilled to share all the details about Gundalow Juice’s awesome event – Empowered by Gundalow! On Sunday, September 20th at 11am, studios and gyms across the area will be hosting fitness classes hosted by Gundalow Ambassadors. A portion of proceeds from each ticket will be donated to Kennedy Krieger Institute‘s Yoga-Based Psychotherapy Group (YBPG). Find out more in our other Empowered by Gundalow post!
Sunday, September 20: Fort McHenry Tunnel 5K
Register today and join 1,000 walkers and runners from around the region for this unique opportunity to run underwater in Baltimore’s very own Fort McHenry Tunnel. NEW feature for 2015- Chip Timing! The Tunnel Run is presented by the Maryland Transportation Authority and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police with all proceeds benefiting Special Olympics Maryland.
Sunday, September 20: Get Ready! Get Set! Get Fit!
Lace up your running shoes and take part in this fantastic 5K/1 mile walk event. Participants will build camaraderie and community, while raising much-needed funds for senior exercise classes and fitness centers in Baltimore County. The beneficiary of this race is the Baltimore County Department of Aging Fitness Programs for Seniors.
Thursday, September 24: Fabletics Grand Opening Event at the Mall of Columbia Fabletics will be celebrating their grand opening at the Mall of Columbia on Thursday, Sept 24th from 6-9PM! Stop by to shop, mingle with Fabletics’ local Master trainers, try out your SurfSet skills with our own Kate Rowe, and enjoy tasty treats from Gundalow Juice, Nalley Fresh, Hint water and KIND!
Friday, September 25: Pop Physique Beyonce Happy Hour
Join Pop for happy hour at the barre with Beyonce! There will be a sweet Queen B playlist, catered appetizers and drinks to follow. The event starts at 7pm and is only $15.
Friday, September 25: Hip Hop Flashback 2000-2005
REV’s Michelle will be throwing it back to the best hip-hop hits from the early 2000’s for a Happy Ride that’ll have you dancing in the saddle! These are the songs that made school dance chaperones uncomfortable nationwide and got the party going – think Usher’s “Yeah”, Ashanti & Fat Joe’s, “What’s Love”, Outkast’s “Hey Ya” and basically any song by 50 Cent.
Saturday/Sunday, September 26/27: Yoga Teacher Immersion Workshop
This informative weekend will help you to develop your skills as a teacher. Jess Crowley will help you understand the Charm City Yoga sequence, support and assist students and refine your voice quality. This training is perfect for teachers new to Charm City Yoga or those wanting to refine their teaching and teacher trainees who have missed time during training.

Sunday, September 27: Charm City Run 20 Miler
Looking for a great training or peak event to prepare for a fall marathon? This course is 20 miles downgrade on the Northern Central Trail. The NCR Trail is a hard-packed, dirt surface and part of the “Rails To Trail” program. This is the same trail used for the Northern Central Trail Marathon. Don’t miss out on the fun—take on this unique distance event!
Sunday, September 27: Run Wild 5K
Join for the 5th Annual Run Wild for Autism 5K benefitting the Pathfinders for Autism. Pathfinders for Autism is a statewide organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with autism and their families. Run or walk through the Maryland Zoo and Druid Hill Park, then stick around afterwards for family activities, snacks and tour the Zoo free of charge!
Sunday, September 27: Notre Dame Blazer Dash
Looking for a great family friendly event? This race course begins on the campus of NDP and winds through the surrounding neighborhood on Gypsy Lane. The Blazer Dash Scholarship Run started in 1997 to benefit the endowed funds at NDP. Memorial and scholarship funds have been established to honor those special to the NDP community. Come out and take on this scenic race course with family and friends!
