It’s FEBRUARY! A full month of 2015 has already flown by and we’re moving right along. We don’t know about you, but things have been super hectic for us! Between busy work schedules, updated class schedules and more, we’re being pulled in all different directions. Good thing there’s tons of amazing events going on this month to keep us energized – Definitely check out Valentine’s Day weekend because there are so many things going on around town!

February Full Month: Yoga Challenges!
There are a couple local yoga challenges going on this month, including the Under Armour 28 Day Yoga Challenge and the M. Power 21 Day Challenge (starts Feb 8.). Both of which will help you get inspired, get in shape and get focused!
February 1: BMOREtoned Super Bowl Challenge
Watching the game today? Join us from anywhere with our easy Super Bowl Challenge! Split up your beer/wings intake with some easy workout moves!
February 1: Roller Derby Boot Camp
Playing roller derby is more than just awesome leggings and fun punny names – there is a lot of training and time that go into being a Charm City Roller Girl both on and off the skating floor. Get an idea of what it takes to be a part of derby by attending Boot Camp! This is a 9 week co-ed bootcamp running from February 1 – April 4.
January 1: Yoga for Every Body
Join Sid Yoga in Towson for a workshop for every body! This two hour workshop will give you all of the tools you need to powerfully modify your practice, no matter what level you are.
February 6th: Power Couple Ride with Jami @REV Cycle
Beyonce & Jay Z. Whitney & Bobby. Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale. Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez. Chris Brown & Rihanna. February 6-8: Yoga Bootcamp at Charm City Yoga
Three weeks of strength assessment, personal training and unlimited yoga with Erin Tschantret and Marissa Walch. Jumpstart your fitness and yoga with this envigorating bootcamp program. Benefits include: strengthening your core, upper body and legs; jumpstarting your metabolism and cardiovascular endurance; improving concentration and determination; cultivating a regular yoga practice and increasing your ability to achieve goal.
February 7: Inversion Workshop at Sid Yoga
Join Gabby at Sid Yoga in Federal Hill for an Inversions Workshop. You will be introduced to and practice postures such as headstand, forearm stand, handstand and more.
February 8: Inhale & Exhale Yoga at lululemon
Starting February 8th, join lululemon in Harbor East for free yoga every Sunday at 10am, followed by post-workout fuel provided by Teavolve. Space is plentiful, but we definitely advise you going early to secure your spot!
February 8: Sun Salutations – Shine Bright! with Allison
The Sun Salutation, or Surya Namaskar, is the foundation of Charm City Yoga’s signature Vinyasa style. In this workshop, you will discover the history, origin, and significance of sun salutations, learn to float back and forward with grace, explore proper alignment, technique & transitions for each pose in the sequence, learn how to link the postures with your breath, build a solid, safe foundation for your Vinyasa practice AND get answers to all your questions! Beginners will leave with the postural clarity and confidence to attend vinyasa classes, and seasoned practitioners will fine tune their flow.
February 8: M. Power Teacher Training Open House
Are you considering becoming a yoga teacher but still on the fence? Have questions regarding our 200 hour program? This is a great opportunity to meet the program leads in person and learn more.
February 8: Charm City Yoga Teacher Training Open House
Are you interested in becoming a yoga teacher? Attend the CCY open house for information on their newly-added Spring 200 hour Teacher Training, starting in April 2015.
February 11: Little Lion Challenge Day
As many of you know, we have some amazing bloggers in our area. One is Heather from (cool) progeny! In 2013, Heather’s son was born with a rare birth defect that required 111 days in a neonatal intensive care unit, several surgeries and a tracheostomy. During that time, it was the little roars (small progresses he made each day and the small acts of kindness) that made all the difference to her family. As a way of saying thanks to all of those who helped us, she established the Little Lion Challenge to inspire others, especially children, to do good works. You can help in ANY way! It could be as simple as buying the person behind you a cup of coffee to as generous as volunteering time at a local soup kitchen. Just use this moment to share some kindness!
February 12: Valentine’s Day Couple Yoga
Join the Baltimore Yoga Village for couples yoga! Move, breathe and deepen a connection with your romantic partner through yoga and gentle massage. No prior experience is necessary.
February 13: Valentine’s Day Ride @REV
At REV it doesn’t matter if you’ve got a plus one or you’re riding solo this Valentine’s Day weekend- you’re covered with a sassy, yet sweet ride led by Lori. Bring that special someone and celebrate after class with a glass of bubbly, or come single and ready to mingle with your fellow REVolutionaries! After all, the couple that sweats together, sticks together!
February 13: Mend, Mingle & Shop Member’s Only Night at M.Power
M.Power Yoga is spreading the love to their members Valentine’s Day Eve with a special member’s appreciation event! Join for a special Mend Restorative Yoga class with extra hands on adjustments beginning promptly at 7:30PM followed by a chance to mingle and meet new people from the community while enjoying free chocolate and wine after class. February 14-15: AcroLove Festival
Join this fun crew to take your practice to the next level with a bunch of friends cheering you on! All levels welcome. There will be a beginner track, as well as an intermediate/advanced track. This festival will be taught by acrosuperstars Aaron Lind, Matt Fields-Johnson, Yoni Kallai, Angela Butch, Lizzy Tomber, and Josh Young!
February 14: Cupid’s Undie Run
You read that correctly. UNDIES. This Valentine’s Day weekend, come put the hilarity in charity with hundreds of half-naked runners taking to the streets in celebration of their fundraising for the Children’s Tumor Foundation!
February 14: Valentine’s Day Fun Run
Not into sporting your underoos while running? OR want to run double to get in Valentine’s shape? Join Charm City Run and the UMMS Foundation for a casual Valentine’s Day Fun Run through the Maryland Half Marathon 5K Course in Maple Lawn.
February 15: Sweat, Shop, Spread Love!
Join Lara Wiitstadt, LLC for her Client Appreciation Party and BARCS charity event at Pop Physique! Join for a free barre/circuit workout by Lara, pampering time with Arbonne products by Jameson Kisling and an opportunity to spread the love by donating to BARCS animal rescue. Light food and drinks, fun and charity!
February 15: Acroyoga with Baltimore Yoga Village
Valentine’s Day weekend isn’t just for couples! Join AcroYoga teacher Mary Steinke for a high energy workshop for single yogis all levels.
February 20-22: Charm City Yoga OM Yoga Weekend
Renowned yoga teacher and author, Cyndi Lee will be visiting Charm City Yoga for a special OM Yoga Weekend. Cyndi is the first female Western yoga teacher to fully integrate yoga asana and Tibetan Buddhism in her practice and teaching. She will be guiding you through an amazing weekend-intensive practice that will leave your whole body energized and open.
February 20: Club REV with Eddie & Jami
REV after dark… it’s happening! We’re rolling out the red carpet and bringing an all-star lineup of instructors to guide you in the most fun you’ve ever had working out on a Friday night. Eddie will be setting the mood with REV45 at 8PM, then Jami will steal the stage for REV45 at 9PM! Both classes will be powered by the talented DJ James Nasty spinning live in the spin studio, while DJ Agent Max keeps the party going in REV’s lobby as we celebrate with post workout cocktails! Don’t forget your ID because no one under the age of 21 will be admitted for these rides!
February 21: PUSH 511 Winter Games
Join for the Second Annual PUSH511 Winter Games! This competition is open to all PUSH members who have never participated in a CrossFit competition, whether at PUSH or another box. This is a fun, supportive event to show you that competitions are for everyone! Also a great way to prepare for the upcoming 2015 CrossFit Open!
February 21: REVENDURE
Join Esther and Jimmie for a 2 hour charity endurance class! REVENDURE benefits National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Chapter of Maryland. Prizes will be raffled out. Post happy ride in REV’s lobby.
February 21: Yoga Crossfit Warrior Challenge
The Warrior Challenge is a 30 day challenge combining yoga and CrossFit. The challenge is 6 days of your choice of practice between a yoga class and/or a CrossFit workout. Prizes from the community will be awarded along the way at select benchmark periods!
February 21: Yoga for Kids (ages 6 – 12) @ Charm City Yoga
Kids will laugh, share, learn new games and most importantly HAVE FUN in a non-competitive environment. Today’s kids live in a hurry-up, competitive world. Just like adults, kids can derive enormous benefits from yoga. Yoga promotes a healthy and active lifestyle while teaching valuable tools to unwind and relax. Not only do kids increase their strength and flexibility, but yoga helps kids develop positive body awareness and self-confidence.
February 22: Bamboo Moves Chakra Series
Join Bamboo moves for another addition of this series where they will talk about the Second Chakra: Sacral. In this monthly series, you will develop an understanding of what each chakra represents. You will also learn pranayama (breathing) and meditation techniques as well as asanas (physical postures) that keep this energy strong and flowing freely.
February 27: Classic Rock with Nick @REV
Rock out to your fav classic rock hits while you gear up during this fun yet challenging ride led by Nick, one of REV’s very own rockstar instructors!
February 28: REV101 with Jim
New to indoor cycling, or just curious what Baltimore’s REVolution is all about? Join Jim for a 45-minute session designed to educate new riders on the best practices of indoor cycling and hands on one on one bike set up. The structure of this class is as follows:15 minutes to review bike setup, cycling positions, and how to use the bike’s console to track your own workout, followed by a 30-minute ride. This class is FREE and will keep you coming back to REV for more!
February 28: Foam roller & Core Class at Charm City Run
Get more from your foam roller! Join CCR Saturday, February 28th at 9:00AM for a clinic reviewing some of the benefits of having a foam roller (not just letting it gather dust in the corner). This is a great opportunity whether you already have a foam roller or have been thinking you might need one. This event is free, but please register so they know how many to expect.
